Squamous Cell Carcinoma Resection

Patient History

Patient is a 66-year-old male who presented with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the right face and forehead.

Treatment

Following extensive cancer resection, Restrata® Sheet was placed over the soft tissue defect. A non-adherent primary dressing and bolster dressing were then applied. At week three, Restrata had fully resorbed and granulation tissue was present.

Conclusion

Robust tissue formation precluded the need for free flap reconstruction and at week five, a split-thickness skin graft (STSG) was performed. The newly formed tissue persisted throughout subsequent radiation therapy.

Restrata has not been studied in wounds that extend into the tendon, muscle, joint capsule, or bone. Restrata should not be applied until excessive exudate, bleeding, acute swelling, and infection is controlled. Please refer to the Instructions for Use for a full list of indications, contraindications, precautions, and warnings.
