Pressure Ulcer

Patient History

Patient presented with a history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, peripheral arterial disease, obesity, arterial fibrillation, and transient ischemic attack. Patient had total knee replacement surgery and developed a complication due to improper off-loading, developing pressure ulcer on the right heel. Patient was treated with collagen products and wet to dry dressings prior to Restrata.

Primary Diagnosis

Pressure ulcer of right heel, stage 3

Treatment & Outcome

Restrata treatment was initiated. After application of Restrata, the wound was covered with primary dressing of Mepitel AG® and 4x4s. Patient healed with two applications of Restrata in four weeks.
