Hip to Mid-Calf Circumferential Avulsion

Patient History

Patient presented with circumferential degloving of the right hip through mid-calf after being struck by a cement truck crossing the street. The patient suffered orthopedic injuries in addition to the soft tissue trauma.

Treatment

The patient had multiple orthopedic procedures in the operating room to repair bone and ligament damage. This procedure was followed by the application of Restrata MiniMatrix and Meshed to the anterior and posterior portions of the upper leg and calf. Three weeks after the Restrata application, the patient received a split-thickness skin graft (STSG).

Conclusion

By Week 10, post Restrata application, the STSG had a complete take (7 weeks after STSG application).

*Disclaimer: Restrata has not been studied in wounds that extend into the tendon, muscle, joint capsule, or bone. Restrata should not be applied until excessive exudate, bleeding, acute swelling, and infection is controlled. Please refer to the Instructions for Use for a full list of indications, contraindications, precautions, and warnings.

**Restrata must be completely resorbed prior to STSG application
