Diabetic Foot Ulcer

Patient History

Patient is a 40-year-old female with a history of type 2 diabetes. Patient presented to the Emergency Room with a diabetic foot ulcer and infection. The surgeon took the patient to the OR for debridement, drained the infection, and started antibiotics. The patient was treated with advanced modalities that included negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) and a bioengineered skin substitute.

Treatment & Outcome

The patient was not progressing, and the surgeon transitioned to Restrata applications on an as-needed basis. The patient successfully healed after six weeks with three applications.
