Dehisced Surgical Wound Post Ankle Fracture

Patient History

Patient is a 35-year-old with obesity and venous insufficiency, status post-surgery for the repair of an ankle fracture. Surgical site dehisced and the patient was treated with ProforeTM wraps, Unna boots, and standard wound care for two months.

Treatment & Outcome

Restrata was added to the treatment regimen and applied after wound debridement at week one and again at week three. Restrata was fenestrated and hydrated with saline, then affixed and covered with a primary dressing of AdapticTM and Profore®. Patient healed in eight weeks with two applications of Restrata.
